Document Notarization

Frequently, we are asked to notarize or commission the signatures of our clients on a variety of documents. These may include proofs of loss, documents from other jurisdictions or miscellaneous affidavits. Fairly enough, many lawyers charge a fee for this service, typically ranging from $50.00 for straightforward matters up to $300.00 or more for more complex or time-consuming ones.

It is our policy not to charge a fee for such services (so long as we are not asked to prepare original documentation or advise you concerning it). Instead, we suggest that you make a donation to a local charity, either of your choice or ours. We can accept and forward the donation on your behalf or you’re welcome to make it yourself when you get home. Of course, you are under no obligation to do so, and no solicitation will be made.
